Community Petition!!!

I have been a Deviant for nearly four years and I am proud to say there is a petition underway, that i just have to share. It is designed for the artists of deviantart to be allowed to sell any product they create, right here on deviantart without having to go through another site, or giving out any personal information.

Now i know what some of you are thinking, "But hasn't deviantart already set something like that up?" Answer: No not really. Deviants can put their art up for sale via print, calender, ect, But they cannot sell original works, crafts, jewelry, ect, without having to go to another site or giving out personal information. What this petition is all about is to make that possible. It can certainly bring in more amazing artists, and possibilities for the community.

There can be Auctions for an original piece of work, which could then help that artist out, or can even go to charity. I know not every deviant works with photography or drawing, I have personally seen a lot of very talented wood workers, glass workers and jewelers on here, that are limited as to how they sell their works. If this petition goes through they will all have an equal chance to sell their pieces in a safe and speedy way.

<ArtisticAunJuli> The idea has circulated for a while now, and even though it floated around, I'm not sure there was any real collective movement for it. While I'm sure the administration has probably thought about it, it was just time to get the community involved.
Show the administration this is something that the community needs, and more importantly, really wants.
<DevarinStar> i agree. So in what ways do you think this could help our community on Deviantart?
<ArtisticAunJuli> Well, for one, it would keep things centralized. I think having this feature on deviantART would be great because it would keep the people viewing our galleries ON the website if they decide they want
to purchase something of ours. I think having to navigate away from the page to somewhere completely different could be a turn off for potential buyers who were directed originally to deviantART.
On an alternative note, it may even prompt people who may not have thought about selling, to put up their first sale and launch some sort of art career. Who knows? The possibilites are endless.
<DevarinStar> I know a lot of people support Artists for Charity ( ), do you think that this new market place
could enhance such activities?
<ArtisticAunJuli> Well, I definitely think that such a platform would stimulate a lot of different activities and giving back to the community or to those less fortunate could probably be incorporated somehow.
<DevarinStar> ArtisticAunJuli: would you like to add anything else? comments or questions for the community?
<ArtisticAunJuli> I just want people to jump in, push the idea, and get it going. I see people who are saying things like "Well as long as its done right" -- we shouldn't be worrying about details now because we'll get
caught up in it and the idea will never grow to its full potential.
There will be plenty of time to bicker over methods and details later... and even though its impossible to please everyone, I KNOW deviantART really does have the best interests of the artists at heart.
Just drop your guard guys, get excited, and get involved!;D

And from the love and passion I've seen in this community...
People like to buy from their fellow deviants... they like supporting them.

This is all about dA's new +collect feature! It's just like the +fav, but it instead adds it to your collection gallery. Now you can easily assemble a collection of work from your favorite artists!

New Scripts

This makes it loads easier to be in numerous rooms, while not having get that nasty looking second line. It takes up a whole lot less space, and is a great script addition.

Damn Welcome

This script is for all of you who want to do custom welcomes, but don't want to be running those pesky bots all the time. Instead of the bot doing it, you yourself will be giving out unique welcomes for the users in your favorite chats (places like DAN )

New Things Around dAmn:

Firstly, another congrats and well done to *DeeRose for getting the DD. It makes you so proud that someone as lovely as Miss. Dee gets what she desrves, Pop on over and say well done for the rest of us.

Secondly I'd like to say welcome to *RedWombat for finally joining us on the staff, another lovely new addition to our team. I'd also like to say farewell to ~Zellyn-Skyy and say that you will be sadly missed as a staff member, and please come back and see us again!
